Obituary

Laconia—Julie Anne Gaillard, 36, of 188 Sheridan Street, Lakeport, passed away after a long battle with gastric cancer, surrounded by her loved ones, on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Julie was born August 27, 1977 in Laconia, N.H., the daughter of Gayle Gallant and James Gaillard. She spent most of her life in Laconia and Belmont. She also lived in Florida for 9 years and received her Associate’s Degree in the dental field.
Julie was a free spirit and enjoyed living life to the fullest. Her many interests included fishing, camping, golfing, snowboarding, antiquing at the local thrift shops and traveling. During her tenure at Continental Airlines, her job enabled her to travel to Hawaii, Mexico, Las Vegas among numerous other destinations.
Julie’s family and friends were very important to her. She loved time spent with family and friends and was always full of love, fun and laughter. Her outgoing personality, infectious smile, sense of humor and kind heart afforded her many lifelong friends. She will be missed by all her knew her.
Julie especially adored her niece and nephews. Whether it be a sleepover with Maddy, fishing at the Lakeport dam with Riley or cheering on Jake and Drew at their soccer games at Laconia High School, she always loved spending time with them.
Julie is survived by her partner, Katie Ferguson, of New Durham; mother, Gayle Gallant, of Laconia; her father, James Gaillard, of Laconia; a brother, Scott Fazzina, and a sister, Leslie Lovely, both of Gilford; a niece, Madeline Pauline Lovely, and three nephews, Jake, Andrew and Riley Sykes. Survivors also include her grandmother, Pauline Gallant, her uncle, Michael Gallant, and his wife, Jane, of Gilford, her aunt, Gloria Gallant, and her husband, Wilbur Bickford, of Belmont and three cousins, Dawn Eastman, Deborah Gallant and Samantha Nock. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Ernest Gallant and George Gaillard and by a grandmother, Eunice Gaillard and an aunt, Becky Houle.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00AM at St. Andre Bessette Parish at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, N.H. There will then be a celebration of Julie’s life at the Leavitt Park House, 334 Elm St., Lakeport immediately following.
A private burial will be held later in the spring in the family lot at McCoy Cemetery, Gilford, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756.
