Laconia-----Robert E. Thoroughgood, 79, of 562 Union Avenue, died at his home on Friday, March 14, 2014. He was the widower of Georgianne (Begin) Thoroughgood.
Mr. Thoroughgood was born December 5, 1934 in Alton, N.H., the son of the late Wesley and Irma (Witman) Thoroughgood. He was a lifetime resident of the Lakes Region and served in the U. S. Air Force. He and had been employed at Bergen & Paterson for 15 years. He also worked at Steele Hill Resort and was a paper delivery driver for the Citizen.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas Thoroughgood, of Gilford and Dennis Thoroughgood of Laconia and a brother, George Thoroughgood, of Tilton.
Burial, with military honors, will be held at a later date at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, N.H.
