Obituary

…Retired from Cormier Construction, age 81
TEWKSBURY - Claud S. Gibbs, died March 29, at Lowell General, Saints Campus in Lowell after a long period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late, Ruth A. (Ham) Gibbs, who died in 2011. He was born in Bangor, ME the only child of the late Claude Clinton Gibb and Gwendolyn A. (Spenser) Gibb.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War. After serving a tour of duty stationed in Germany, he worked for the B & M Railroad. He later moved to Tewksbury to raise his family and worked as a heavy equipment operator at Cormier Construction in Tewksbury. He was an Assistant Scout Master in the Tewksbury Boy Scouts Troop 47. He was also an active Red Cross donor accompanying his wife while she volunteered during blood drives.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Randall Gibbs of Tewksbury, Samuel Gibbs and his wife Theresa (Diette) of Nashua, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Claudia M. Cook and her husband Thomas of Gardner, Five grandchildren Erica Ferguson and her husband Jim of Haverhill, Michael Gibbs, of Rochester, NH, Victoria Gibbs of Dracut, Thomas Cook and his wife Lindsea of Templeton, Ryan Cook of Gardner, and a great grandson Tanner James Cook.
He was the father of the late Gwendolyn Gibbs who died in 1960.
His Funeral Service was held April 1, in the funeral home. Burial was private. Memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675, or online woundedwarriorproject.org, will be appreciated.
