Walter E. Pearce, 92, of Westport, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at home after an extended illness. He was the husband of Joan L. (Manchester) Pearce and the late Jessica (Cornell) Pearce.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Pardon Pearce Sr. and Annie (Cabral) Pearce, he grew up in Tiverton and had resided in Westport for most of his life. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he worked as a salesman for Congoon & Carpenter of Fall River. Mr. Pearce loved having gatherings at his home with his family and friends. He enjoyed both cooking and eating good food and having Summertime cookouts.
Survivors along with his wife include his step daughter: Andrea S. Leitao of Westport; his sister: Gladys Costa of Fall River; and 2 step grandchildren: Krista and Dylan.
He was the brother of the late Hilda Halstead and Pardon Pearce, Jr.
