Phyllis E. (Stowell) Tripp, 95, of Westport, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Percy L. Tripp.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Frederick E. and Margaret L. (Donald) Stowell, she had been a lifelong resident of Westport. Mrs. Tripp was a 1938 graduate of Westport High School. She was the oldest living member of the Pacific Union Congregational Church, Westport and a Communion Stewardess. She was also on their finance committee, worked at all of their church suppers and enjoyed knitting.
Survivors include her son: Wayne L. Tripp and his wife Betsy of Fairfax, VA; her daughter: Margaret E. “Maggie” Tripp of Westport; 3 sisters: Edith M. Bowman and Helen P. Reed, both of Westport and Winifred G. Williams of NY; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces & great nephews; a great great niece; and her beloved dog Cleo.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
