SPENCER: Joanne E. (Valley) Florou 81, of Spencer died peacefully, Thursday, March 27th. at home with her daughter by her side.
She leaves her daughter Cynthia M. Florou with who she lived, a niece Ann Wiberg and family, of Casa Grande, AZ and her devoted kitten Jojo. She will be reunited with her husband of 42 years, Nicholas and her son Barry, brother Joseph Valley, Jr. and her parents Mary (McKeon) and Joseph Valley, Sr.
She was born and raised in East Brookfield and has lived in Spencer for 60 years. She graduated from David Prouty High School in 1950. Joanne spent her adult life as a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved to travel, going to the beach, dining out and casino trips. She enjoyed musical concerts (especially Rod Stewart), the Red Sox, and Bill Bellicheck press conferences. She made every day brighter with her smile and laughter.
Her family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to her home health aide, Annmarie Peddle for her loving care and companionship shown to Joanne. In addition, a special thank you goes out to her long time friend, Janet Lucchesi, whose compassion, love and thoughtfulness was evident as Joanne's disease progressed.
A celebration of Joanne's life will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no public funeral services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, E.Brookfield, Ma. 01515.
