Sandra Fields Vickers, 70, of Wray, Georgia, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Satilla Baptist Church in Irwin County, with the Rev. William Pope and the Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 at The Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Vickers was born September 19, 1943 in Atlanta to the late Rue Artis and Marie Lois Parker Fields. She graduated from Russell High School in East Point, Georgia. She had lived in the community since 1964 and was a bookkeeper for Fender Automotive Group for many years. Mrs. Vickers was a very active member of Satilla Baptist Church. She loved her church and her family dearly.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years: Wayne Vickers of Wray; one daughter: Tracy & Jeffery Smith of Ocilla one son: Tony Vickers & fiancé Karen Miller of Leesburg; four grandchildren: Dion & Regan Smith, Anthony & Ashanti Vickers, Dusty Smith & fiancé` Victoria Britton and Andrew & Shannon Vickers; great grandchildren: Emilee Smith and Cailee Smith; two sisters: Diane F. & Leon White of McDonough and Faith F. & David Strickland of Canton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Michael Fields.
