TAUNTON – Anne C. (George) Taraska, longtime Taunton resident and wife of Walter P. Taraska for the past fifty-seven years, died unexpectedly at Taunton Nursing Home on March 27, 2014.
She was 93.
Born in Brockton, the daughter of the late Fred and Mary George, she was educated in Brockton schools, and was a graduate of the Brockton High School class of 1939.
Anne moved to Taunton in 1956 upon her marriage and was a familiar face at Taunton’s Colonial Donut Shop, where she worked for many years.
A member of the Holy Rosary Parish in Taunton, she was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and longtime volunteer at the annual parish picnics.
Anne enjoyed shopping, traveling, days at the beach or by the pool, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mary Beth Taylor and her husband Maxwell of Taunton, and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Fred George, Peter George, Helen Sesin, and Catherine Nessarella.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, April 1st at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Rosary Chapel, Bay St. Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 31st from 4 to 7 p.m.
