John Anthony Spagnola, 71, passed away March 27, 2014 at his residence.
He was a native of Wilkes-Barre, PA
He was a retired US Postal Service employee, a Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he was a member of the 19th Combat Engineers , a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, G.I. Joe Post 244, VFW 1170, DAV Charter 89 and VVA 454.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Alice Hughes Spagnola; brother, Robert Spagnola; sisters, Virginia and Regina Spagnola.
He is survived by his wife, the former Brenda Durbin; children, Alice Spagnola, Carol (Tom) Johnson, and Anthony (Emily) Spagnola; sisters, Mary Alice Drahus and Joan Pastorelli; grandchildren, Kayla and Sarah Johnson and Dominic Spagnola. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held 10 am, Monday at Owen Funeral Home – Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd. Visitation 2-8 pm, Sunday. Burial with full military honors Noon, Monday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
