THOMAS JR, Thomas, 92, of Louisville, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 with his family by his side.
Thomas started as a salesperson with H & R Distributors where he worked for 8 years before it was bought out by Anheuser-Busch. He continued to work there for 38 years before retiring. He was a member of Ascension Catholic Church, an Army Veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of VFW Middletown Post #1170. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was devoted to his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Norma Jean (Wingfeld) Thomas; and his son, Thomas Thomas III.
Thomas is survived by his children, Edward Holsclaw (Bobbie), Stephen Thomas (Donna) and Michele Griffin (Kenny); daughter-in-law, Lynne Thomas; grandchildren, Brian, Brad, Brent and Blake Holsclaw, Tiffany Murphy, Tina Posey, Tara Osbourne, Stephanie Joyce, Tieg and Jace Gonzalez, Ashley Tuttle, Kyle and Paige Griffin; 19 great grandchildren; and Rita Hinton, who cared for him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the VA Homebound Home Care Agency for their care and support.
His Funeral Mass will be 12 Noon Saturday at Ascension Catholic Church, 4600 Lynbrook Dr. with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8pm Friday at Owen Funeral Home – Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road.
