Obituary

Ivery H. Wells, Jr., 75, of Worcester, died Tuesday, March 25th in UMass-Memorial Hospital. He leaves his wife, Jaratta (Lamin) Wells; a daughter, Sandy Webb of Worcester; four sons, Armand and Kevin Wells of Worcester, Ivery Wells, III of Indiana, and Michael Wells of New York; an adopted son, Ivery Wells of Sierra Leone, Africa; three stepchildren; a brother, Walter Lee Wells of Winston-Salem, NC; two sisters, Rosa Mae Kelley of Worcester and Josephine Quinn of Winton-Salem, NC; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was born in Winston-Salem, NC the son of Ivery H. Wells, Sr and Rosetta (Allen) Wells. Ivery worked for New England Grocery for 35 years as a truck driver, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the King David Lodge and John St. Baptist Church and a former member of the board of trustees, a former usher and choir member. Mr. Wells also enjoyed traveling.
Calling hours are Friday, April 4th from 9:00 until 11:00 AM in John St. Baptist Church, 43 John Street followed by a service. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to John St. Baptist Church, 43 John Street, Worcester, MA 01613. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
