Obituary

CHICOPEE – Christine A. (Rufo) Zelazo, 57, a longtime resident of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at the Geriatric Authority of Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Northampton on August 18, 1956, a beloved daughter of the late Richard J. and Loretta Mae (Smith) Rufo. She was raised in Belchertown and settled in Chicopee around 1987. She was a faithful communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. She leaves her beloved husband, Daniel J. Zelazo. They were married on April 5, 1986 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby and were blessed with nearly 28 years of happiness together. Besides her husband, she leaves her beloved son, Christian P. Beauchemin and his wife, Kristina, of Granby; her dear brothers and sister, Clayton Rufo and Anthony Rufo, both of Chicopee and Dawn Rufo of East Harwich, MA; and her many dear nephews, nieces and cousins. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, Richard J. Rufo, Jr. Her relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 which will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
