Obituary

Margie Annie Dover Walker, 95, of Tifton died Monday, March 24, 2014, at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Jim Wiley will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. The deacons of Eastside Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faithful Sunday School class at Eastside Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Walker was born on April 19, 1918 in Forsyth County and was the daughter of the late Feddie Dover and Annie Truelove Dover. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Mathew Walker; and two sisters, Thelma Dover and Edna Leigh Gibbs. She was a homemaker and also retired as a home sitter for the elderly. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Faithful Sunday School class and the Tuesday morning Ladies Prayer Group.

Mrs. Walker is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Donnell and Nancy Walker of Red Wing, Minnesota, Leo and Helen Walker of Tifton, Julian Walker of Adel and Mike Walker of LaGrange; two daughters and sons-in-law, Merle Vela and Colonel Henry Webster of Tifton and Sue and Ivey Sumler of LaGrange; one brother, L. B. Dover of Atlanta; one sister, Sarah Young of Vero Beach, Florida; ten grandchildren, Stan Walker, Tammy Arant, Terry Pearman, Leslie Jones, Kyle Walker, Chad Walker, Kevin Walker, Vince Walker, Jenny Lawson and Robin Berry; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
