BEVERLY: Rita (Vallee) Remare, 89, died peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2014 in the Essex Park Rehab. & Nursing Center with her family by her side.
Rita was born in Montreal, Canada on June 22, 1924. She was one of ten children born to the late Edmund and Clara (Gagnon) Vallee. Rita was raised in Salem and after marrying Nichol Remare, they resided in Beverly where she lived and raised her family.
Rita was employed for the City of Beverly for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed helping out with many volunteer projects, among them were the PTO, the Women’s Sodality at St. John the Evangelist Church, the Democratic Committee and the Beverly Mother’s Club. She also enjoyed volunteering at the polls during city and national elections.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Cashman and her husband, Jack and Jean Weaver and her husband, David; three grandchildren, Kevin Cashman and his wife Lisa, Leanne Miraglia and her husband, Charlie and Jay Weaver and his wife, Shenda; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren and Sarah Cashman, Nicholas and Zachary Miraglia and Trenton, Kaiden and Griffin Weaver; her sister, Jacqueline Sobocinski and her husband, Albert; her cousin, Rachael Gaudette and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 10 AM – 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to The FRAXA Research Foundation, 10 Prince Place, Suite 203, Newburyport, MA 01950.
