Obituary

Johnnie Mae (Fox) Rose, 77, of New Bedford died March 5, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife wife of the late Frank Rose and the companion of the late Frank Araujo.
Born in Biloxi, MS, the daughter of the late Willie and Johnnie Mae (Dallas) Fox, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Rose was a member of the Christian Fellowship Center.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was known for her beautiful smile and gentle heart.




Survivors include 5 sons, Frank Rose, Jr. and his companion, Jackie Morel of New Bedford, Adam Rose of Dartmouth, Lance Araujo and Brian Araujo, both of California and Troy Araujo of Boston; 5 daughters, Donna DeBurgo and her companion Tomas Reyes and Stacey Bonnie and her husband Cuthbert, all of New Bedford, Rosemarie Hicks and her husband Paul of Brockton, Lillian Araujo and Donna Araujo, both of California; a brother, Onie Fox and his wife Cleova of Pensacola, FL; 2 sisters, Willie Mae O'Bannon and Tencie Wilkins, both of Florida; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Marlene Rose, Paula Beltran, Blaine Fuller, Minerva Araujo, Marie Araujo, Frank Araujo, Gary Araujo and Joseph Araujo and his late wife Brenda Araujo.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 25th at 10 AM in the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St. New Bedford. Her family will receive guests on Tuesday morning from 9 - 10 AM at church before her service. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
