Obituary

Murphy of Brockton October 28, 2004, Mildred A. (Williams) Murphy. Devoted wife of the late Raymond J. Murphy. Beloved daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Joseph) Williams. Loving sister of Josephine J. Maraglia of Brockton; Barbara V. Mather of Assonet and Rosemarie P. Sahady of Fall River.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 10 am. The Service of the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Theresa Maronite Church, 343 North Main Street, Brockton at 11 am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30 pm. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 pm with Service of the Incense at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Mildred’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Obituary

Mrs. Murphy died Thursday evening at Life Care Center in West Bridgewater after a brief illness. Born in Brockton, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Joseph) Williams. She remained a life long resident of Brockton and she was a graduate of Brockton High School. Following her graduation she was an assistant executive director of the O.P.A. Rationing Board, she then worked for 40 years at New England Telephone Company, now Verizon at the Brockton regional office. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and inducted into the Pioneer Hall of Fame for her untiring efforts working with autistic children. Mrs. Murphy enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by three sisters, Josephine J. Maraglia of Brockton; Barbara V. Mather of Assonet, Rosemarie P. Sahady of Fall River and many nieces and nephews.
