Obituary

CHICOPEE – Theresa B. (Boisvert) Chagnon Dupre, 84, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on Providence Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on March 10, 1930 one of 15 loving children of the late Albert and Alice (Tremblay) Boisvert. Predeceased by her parents at the age of 13, she was raised by her sister, Argentine Maurice and her husband, Raoul, and had lived in Aldenville her entire life. Theresa was employed for the past 23 years as an administrative assistant for her family business, Valet Park of America, and was lovingly referred to as “Grandma”. Theresa was an active woman and volunteered her time for the Pioneer Valley USO and at Westover Air Reserve Base during Operation Desert Storm. Most of all, Theresa was a wonderful homemaker to her large family. She showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Active in her faith, she was a longtime communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville where she was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality. She was predeceased by her beloved first husband, Roland R. Chagnon who was Called Home on November 19, 1966. Roland was killed in a tragic accident on Grattan Street in Chicopee. Theresa was left to raise her five children while pregnant with her son, Ted, who was born one month later. Five years later, Theresa married J. Oscar Dupre and had two children with him. They raised eight children and shared many years of happiness together. She leaves her beloved husband, J. Oscar Dupre of Chicopee; her eight loving children, Olivia A. Chagnon Kubetin of Chicopee, Roland R. Chagnon, Jr. and his wife, Pamela, of Granby, Joyce M. Cote and her partner, Jay Schmidt, of Southbridge, Janice M. Saporito and her husband, William, of Granby, Michael J. Chagnon and his partner, Gini Iarusso, of Chicopee, Theodore L. Chagnon and his wife, Angela, of Granby, and Therese M. LaBrecque and Jason J. Dupre, both of Chicopee; her 21 cherished grandchildren, Abraham Kubetin and his wife, Carly, Jennifer Kubetin and her partner, Terrence Brown, Maggie Chagnon and her fiancé, John Gaughan, Roland Chagnon, III and his wife, Rachel, Danny Chagnon and his wife, Nancy, Jeremy Cote and his wife, Shannon, Jessica Cote and her partner, Martin Steiger, Justin Cote and his partner, Aleah Abert, Jillian Cote and her partner, Jay Laliberte, Tanya Picard and her husband, Jeff, William Saporito, Tracy Saporito and her partner, John Robillard, Otis Saporito, Tyler Saporito and his partner, Amie Smola, Chris Chagnon, Alicia Chagnon, Adam Chagnon, Cameron Chagnon, Marshall LaBrecque, Crystal LaBrecque and Brandon Dupre; her 23 cherished great grandchildren; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended members of the Dupre, Chagnon and Boisvert families. Besides her loving parents and her first husband, she was also predeceased by her 14 dear siblings; her dear son-in-law, Thaddeus J. Kubetin; and her dear daughter-in-law, Charlene Chagnon. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, March 25, 2014 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 24, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
