Joan R. (Plant) Leonard died peacefully at the Life Care Center in Plymouth on Wednesday. She was 84.
Born and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Doherty) Plant. A Medford resident for nearly 60 years, Joan enjoyed a 40 year career in customer service at the former Zayres and Ames Department Stores. Joan enjoyed sports and especially liked to follow her grandchildren’s involvement in sports.
The beloved wife of the late Robert Leonard, she was a devoted mother to Mark Leonard and his wife Cathi Porreca of Plymouth. She leaves her loving grandchildren Mark Anthony and Gina. The dear sister of John Plant of Medford, Eileen Enos of NH and the late Virginia Puzzo, Roberta Jewers, Mary Robbitele and Barbara McGrory. She also leaves many dear nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday at the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford from 4 thru 8 PM and again on Monday morning, March 24th at 9:30 followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
