Gilford------William E. Grant, 85, of 136 Watson Road #10, died at his home on March 18, 2014.
Mr. Grant was born January 13, 1929 in Brockton, Mass., the son of the late Frederick and Nora (Donahue) Grant. He served in the US Army and was a longtime resident of Massachusetts and Florida before moving to Gilford. He had been employed at Nynex (formerly N. E. Telephone and Verizon) for thirty-three years.
Mr. Grant was a member of the American Legion Post #19 of Somerville, Mass.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Rosemarie (Caliri) Grant of Gilford; four sons, William Grant, Jr. and his wife, Paula, of North Andover, Mass., Joseph Grant and his wife, Patricia, of Tyngsboro, Mass., Robert Grant of Stoneham, Mass. and John Grant and his wife, Tammy, of Everett, Mass.; four grandchildren, Karen Young, Steven Grant, Patrick Grant and Daniel O’Brien; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie Cormier of Stoneham, Mass., Barbara Osgood of Carver, Mass. and Virginia McKenna of Saugus, Mass. and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Grant was predeceased by a son, Daniel Grant, in 1984, by a daughter, Margaret Grant, on January 22, 2014, by a brother, Frederick Grant, Jr. and by a sister, Ruth Perantoni.
There will be no calling hours.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 11:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.
Burial, will military honors, will follow at 1:00PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, N.H.
