Edna Leigh Dover Gibbs, 93, of Brookfield died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Golden Living Center. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Tift Memorial Gardens. Rev. Dan Robinson will officiate with burial to follow. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Gibbs was born on December 20, 1920 in Forsyth County and was the daughter of Feddy Dover and Annie Trulove Dover, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald “Ronnie” Eugene Gibbs; one daughter, Edna Jean Gibbs; and one sister, Thelma Dover. She was a homemaker and worked as a nurse’s aide for seventeen years. She was a member of Brookfield United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Gibbs is survived by her husband of 72 years, Eugene Gibbs of Brookfield; one brother, L. B. Dover of Atlanta; two sisters, Margie Walker of Tifton and Sarah Young of Vero Beach, Florida; one granddaughter, Monica Blair Gibbs of Orlando, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
