Frances Lucille Maton Reece, 84, of Tifton died Wednesday, March 19, 204, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. John Watson, T. J. Stephenson, James Gessford, Billy Griffin, Austin Moore, and Kyle Webb will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Reece was born on August 12, 1929 in Gaston, Alabama and was the daughter of Andrew Maton and Sarah McCormick Maton, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jessie James Reece; one son, Ricky Reece; two daughters, Maxine Hiers and Diane Watson; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. She retired from West Berrien School.
Mrs. Reece is survived by four daughters, Ruth Gessford of Sparks, Edardine Reece of Lenox, Sheila Reece of Berrien County and Betty Reece of Tifton; four brothers, William Maton of North Carolina, Trigger Maton of Alabama, Ralph Maton of Tifton and Robert Lee Maton of Cartersville; two sisters, Edna Mae Nasworthy of Fitzgerald and Mildred Jenkins of Alabama; eleven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
