Hellen M. Gautreau
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother

TEWKSBURY: Hellen M. (Peterson) Gautreau, age 79, a resident of Tewksbury for 16 years, passed away at home, with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
She was the beloved wife of William G. Gautreau, with whom she celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 8, 2013.
Born in Weymouth on December 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Hellen (Petersen) Peterson.
Hellen was raised in Weymouth, attended Weymouth schools and graduated from Weymouth High School in 1952.
Following high school, she attended school to become a licensed hairstylist.
Hellen dedicated her adult life to caring for her husband, family and grandchildren.
She attended the Tewksbury Congregational Church, where she served as a member of the Ladies Aid.
Hellen enjoyed playing the organ, flower gardening, craft projects which included recycling jewelry items and creating Christmas ornaments, as well as antiquing. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her much loved and treasured grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Wayne Gautreau and his wife Andrea of Laconia, NH and Dennis Gautreau and his wife Cyndi of Milford, NH; two daughters, Monica Kelly and her husband Robert of Hudson, NH and Karla Rossi of Wakefield; eight grandchildren, William J. Gautreau and his wife Jamie, Brandon, Jonathan and Stephanie Kelly, Nicholas, Leah and Jenna Rossi, and Madeline Gautreau; one sister, Susan Vaille and her husband James of Hanover; one brother, Karl Peterson of Florida; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Kenneth Hansen of Palm Coast, FL; also many nieces and nephews.
Hellen was the sister of the late Frances Bowman.
At the request of the family there are No Calling Hours. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, March 22, at 11:30 a.m. at the Tewksbury Congregational Church, 10 East St., Tewksbury Center. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472, www.alz.org.
