Lorraine J. (Thatcher) Fowler, age 66, of Brockton died Sunday March 16, 2014 at Good Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Robert J. Fowler, Jr. Lorraine was born in New Bedford a daughter of Raymond Thatcher of Brockton and the late Julia L. (Alves) Thatcher. For the past 39 years she had been a resident of Brockton. Illness forced her retirement as a paraprofessional at Brockton High School and previously she was a legal secretary at DSS in Bridgewater.
Lorraine enjoyed yard sales, shopping, eating out and trips to Plymouth Harbor. She loved her pets and had been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1046. Lorraine’s true joy in life was her family especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children Robert J. Fowler, III of Brockton; Tina M. Fowler of Braintree; Julia L. Fowler and her spouse Renee Thompson-Fowler of Brockton and Nicole R. Fowler of Brockton; longtime companion Antonio T. Pina of Brockton. She also leaves 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren was the sister of the late Terrence Lee Thatcher.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Sunday 2-5 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Monday at 8 am for a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 9 am. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Boston.
