TEWKSBURY: Dorothy M. (Young) Andrews, age 79, a resident of Tewksbury for the past 58 years, died Thursday, October 28, 2004 at her home.
She was the wife of Ralph R. Andrews with whom she celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Jun 5th.
Born in Boston on February 22, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Thayer) Young.
Mrs. Andrews was raised in Boston and attended Boston Public Schools.
She and her husband have resided in Tewksbury since August 1, 1946.
Mrs. Andrews previously attended the Tewksbury United Methodist Church.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for 20 years as a packer at Sweetheart Plastics Company in Wilmington.
In her retirement, she enjoyed collecting dolls, traveling to Hawaii and throughout the continental United States and caring for her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 1 son; Richard D. Andrews and his wife Donna (Sferrazza) of Tewksbury; 3 daughters; Susan J. Cantwell of Tewksbury, Barbara J. Soave and her husband Robert of Atkinson, NH and Janice R. Stotelmyre and her husband Robert of Tewksbury; 10 grandchildren; Heather D. Leary of Tewksbury, Kristi L. Andrews of Lowell, Paul R. Cantwell of Ayer, Laura J. Smart of Tewksbury, Kenneth J. Wilson of Brookline, NH, Jessica L. Soave of Methuen, Daniel R. and Katy E. Soave both of Atkinson, NH, Amanda L. Catanuso and Matthew N. Stotelmyre both of Tewksbury; 6 great grandchildren; Kevin and Caitlyn Leary, Carissa Cantwell, Alexis Ahern, Michael Wilson and Nathan Catanuso; a sister-in-law; Ruth Young of Derry, NH; many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Andrews was the grandmother of the late Brian D. Cantwell and sister of the late Terry Barkhouse, Irene Campbell, Edward, Daniel and William Young.
Calling hours Monday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral services Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery.
