Janet M. (Mutch) Nason, age 68, of Norton passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the comfort of her home on Monday, March 17, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Elwin W. Nason.
Born in Wales on November 30, 1945, she was a loving daughter of the late William and Edith (Gregory) Mutch.
As a young child she moved to Cambridge, MA and later as a teenager to California. She was a graduate of Bakersfield High School and had attended Bakersfield College both in Bakersfield, CA.
Mrs. Nason had made her home in Norton for over 40 years. She was a retired Bursar, having worked for 40 years at Wheaton College in Norton and was also a trustee and chairman of the Auditing Committee at North Easton Savings Bank.
Janet’s activities included being an active member of the Filmore- Nason VFW Post 8049 Ladies Auxiliary in Norton and she also served as a committee member for the Town of Norton’s Tricentennial Parade.
She was a devoted supporter of her family and friends who were involved in auto racing and enjoyed vacations spent in beautiful Booth Bay Harbor, Maine and also trips taken to area casinos.
In addition to her beloved husband of 42 years, she is survived by her devoted son, Keith W. Nason and his wife Kristin of Norton. She was the dear sister of Gregory Mutch of Bakersfield, CA and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, as well as the members of the Nason family who were a very special part of her life
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of her life on Tuesday, March 25th at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 24th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
Janet’s wish was for all those planning on attending her services to please dress in bright and cheerful colors.
