Obituary

Mrs. Marguerite A. “Alice” (Bissonnette) LeClair, of Taunton passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, at Marian Manor following a period of failing health. She was 94 years old. Known to most of her friends as Alice, she was the loving wife of the late Henry A. LeClair for more than 56 years, and the devoted mother of the late Kevin and Roger LeClair. Although she was a Taunton resident for most of her adult life, she was born and educated in Dighton, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Marcotte) Bissonnette. She was the sister of the late Anita Hastings, Louise Powers, Emile, Louis and Herman Bissonnette. She was once employed at Mount Hope Finishing Company and Swank’s, and was a volunteer switchboard operator for a private agency. More recently, she served as a Eucharistic Minister at Morton Hospital and was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish for over 70 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed Sunday afternoon trips to Cape Cod. For many years she enjoyed sewing, needlework, embroidery, fishing, bingo and traveling to Foxwoods, but most of all, she enjoyed a good laugh with family and friends. Alice is survived by many nieces and nephews, friends and her companion, Joe Grenier.
