Richard R. Forcier 71, of Alton Ave, Cumberland, died Friday at home after a long battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of forty-nine years of Jo-Ann (Fontaine) Forcier.
He was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Dorila and Aurore (Desrosiers) Forcier. Mr. Forcier was employed by A&H Duffy Polishing for many years and worked for A.T. Cross for thirty-five years as a polisher, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed working around his home and was an avid gardener. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons; Michael Forcier of San Antonio, TX, Marc Forcier and his wife Anita of Woonsocket, and Scott Forcier of Suffolk, VA, five grandchildren; Alyssa, Adam, Haley, Matthew, and Alaura, and one sister, Yolande Bourget of Blackstone. He was also the brother of the late Ovide Forcier and Idola Beaudoin.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00AM in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St, Woonsocket, with a prayer service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours will be Monday 5-7PM.
