Obituary

Leonard A. Goldman, “Lenny” – 74, resident of Framingham, passed away March 15, 2014 at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. He was the beloved husband of Linda, and son of Ira and Beatrice Goldman of Rochester, NY.

Len was a Communications major at Ithaca College. He served with the 82nd Airborne Division in Korea, where he was a radio announcer for AFKN, later becoming a disc jockey in Rochester and Syracuse, NY. His successful career took the family to New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston. Framingham was “home” for over 45 years. Len was Sales Manager for WBZ-TV, and then WNEV-TV, and later helping to pioneer the start-up of New England Cable News (NECN). He served as a former member and president of New England Broadcasting Association (NEBA), a member of the Advertising Club of Greater Boston, and served on the Board of Directors of the MetroWest YMCA, the Framingham Youth Counsel, and the Shriner’s Burn Institute.

Len is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda (Vaughn), of Framingham, his daughters, Tracey Goldman Stack of Alpharetta, GA; Karen Rice and husband Michael, of Woburn; and four grandchildren; Madison, Nicholas, Kellen and Megan. He is also survived by his sister, Charlotte Silverberg and husband Michael of NYC, nephew Daniel Silverberg and wife Rande. He was pre-deceased by his nephew Mark Silverberg. Len is further survived by his brother-in-laws Wayne Vaughn and wife Mary, Brian Vaughn and wife Betty, and their two sons, Jason Vaughn and wife Elise, and Matthew Vaughn.
