Obituary

Adele “Dolly” David, 71, of Wellesley Hills, MA died Saturday, March 15, 2014, surrounded by her adoring family. Born in Newton, MA on December 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Italia “Tally” and Vincent Pignatiello and grew up in Wellesley with her sister, Janice, and brother, Joey. Adele’s bond with the close-knit community of Wellesley would blossom into lifelong relationships centered on her cherished family, extending to friends and business associates. Adele graduated from Wellesley High School in 1960 where she was an accomplished gymnast, a vibrant head cheerleader, Student Council officer, Vice-President of her Class and voted “Friendliest Girl” in the senior Poll of Superlatives. After graduating from Chandler School for Women in Boston she worked for Honeywell, Inc. and toured America demonstrating business minicomputers at industry tradeshows. Her friendly personality and energetic attitude combined with her corporate sales and marketing experience paved the way for a 30+ year career as one of Wellesley’s most prominent and successful real estate agents. Adele is in an elite group of agents achieving Coldwell Bankers' top award of President's International Premiere, which is the top 1% of brokers in America. She has sold more houses in Wellesley than any other broker, and has, in many cases, sold homes multiple times.

Adele considered her family as her greatest achievement. She was the very definition of a mother and grandmother; cheering on her children, and later her grandchildren, at soccer, baseball and football games. She drove the carpools, helped with homework, babysat her grandchildren, made the holidays special and did it all with exceptional style and grace. Adele embraced her life from an early age, and life rewarded her in-kind, for it is in giving that we receive, and Adele gave generously. She lived a wonderful life and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her three children: Jeffrey David and his wife, Phoebe; Allison Poirier and her husband, Christopher; and Jessica Broggi and her husband, Robert. She is also survived by her sister, Janice M. Peretti; brother-in-law Robert; her brother, Joseph Pignatiello; sister-in-law, Connie; and her grandchildren: Jack, Robby, Max, Skye, Cameron, Jake, Tatum, Scarlett, Boden, Isabella and Sienna, and several nieces and nephews.

Adele was active in support of charities that benefitted children. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund either online at: http://www.myjimmyfundpage.org/give/adele or mailed to:
