MANSFIELD - Mary R. (Gilmore) Estabrook, 87, of Mansfield, formerly of Bridgewater, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Harper A. Estabrook.
Born May 20, 1917, in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine (McCarthy) Gilmore.
Mrs. Estabrook grew up in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1935.
She had been a resident of Mansfield for the past seven years, coming from Bridgewater, where she lived for 30 years.
Mrs. Estabrook enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth L. Fisher of Bellingham and Paul Estabrook of Mansfield; one sister, Anna Craig of Wareham; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Joyce Almeida and sister to the late William, James and Edward Gilmore.
Her funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Saturday from Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 9 a.m.
Visiting hours will be Friday evening from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
