Worcester—Ardivast Kurtigian, 75, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at Saint Vincent Hospital. His wife of more than 30 years, Rose (Radisic) Kurtigian, died in 2001. He leaves 2 sisters, Nathalie Soter and Margaret Kurtigian, both of Worcester; 2 nieces, whom he considered daughters, Eugenia and her husband Harry Paraghamian of Holden with whom he made his home and Andrea Sotiropoulos-Grepstad and her husband Arnie Grepstad; 2 nephews, Dr. Aram Paraghamian of Baltimore, MD and Christian Paraghamian of Worcester. To all who knew him best, he was a very loving and endearing friend.
Ardivast was born in Worcester, son of Hagop and Mary (Aykanian) Kurtigian and was a life-long Worcester resident and graduated from North High School. He was a construction worker for several local construction companies. He was a member of Holy Trinity Armenian Church, a long-time member of Pleasant Valley Country Club, a member of the East Side Improvement Club, an associate member of American Legion Post 3, and an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct 30, in Holy Trinity Armenian Church, 635 Grove Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 4-7 p.m. at the Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Holy Trinity Armenian Church, 635 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
