Richard J. D’Auteuil, Jr. age 56, of Brockton, died March 12, 2014, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband for 31 years of Catherine L. (Wiggin) D’Auteuil. Lifelong of Brockton, Rick was the son of Richard J. D’Auteuil, Sr. of Brockton, and the late Phyllis R. (Brady) D’Auteuil. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1975, and Massasoit Community College. Rick was a Circulation Manager at the Brockton Enterprise, where he had previously been employed for 20 years, and for the past 10 years was employed as a Security Officer at Allied Barton Security. He was a fun loving father who enjoyed time with his family. Rick was a former coach of the Brockton North Little League; an avid Boston sports fan; fire and radio buff, and enjoyed playing Bingo at Foxwoods.
In addition to his wife and father, Rick is survived by his children Richard M. D’Auteuil of Nantucket, Susan M. D’Auteuil of Brockton and Jennifer L. D’Auteuil of Hopkinton; two brothers-in-law Kenneth Wiggin and his wife Kathy and Harold Wiggin and his wife Paula all of Nantucket; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday 2-5pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday at 8am for a funeral mass in Christ the King Parish at 9am. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
