John Richards, of Plymouth, formerly of Quincy, died on March 8th at home surrounded by his family at the age of 93. The beloved husband of the late Dorothy F. (Chapman) and father of John F. Richards, Elizabeth Baldwin and her husband James, Diana Fordyce, and the late Kenneth A. Richards and his wife Leslie McCallion. Loving Grandfather to Cheryl Shaw, Robert Baldwin, Lori Murphy, Jennifer Curran, Kenneth J. Richards, Rebecca Richards, Jameson and Ayla Richards, and the late Jonathan Richards. Great Grandfather to Emme, Adeline, Ruby, Cullen, Nicholas, Jacob, Jillian, Brody, Taylor and Marcus. Also Uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews. After graduating from North Quincy High School he entered the US Army and served in WW11 and received The WW11 Victory Medal. He retired from The Quincy Fire Department after 32 years of service. He was a past member of The Wollaston Order of Masons. He enjoyed camping trips with his family and spending winters in Florida. Above all else he will be remembered as the patriarch who loved his family and his legacy will be passed on from generation to generation. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 16th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) from 3 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 17th at 10 AM at the 2nd Church of Plymouth in Manomet followed by burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne.
