BOSCAWEN – Joyce Arlene (Cabral) O’Dougherty, 72, of 325 Daniel Webster Highway, formerly a longtime resident of Laconia, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen.
She was born on October 16, 1941 in Franklin, the daughter of Arthur “Nick” and Elizabeth (Blake) Cabral. Joyce worked as a waitress for a number of years, most recently for JJ Newberry’s in Laconia. Joyce was a lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #1670 in Laconia. She enjoyed playing cards and Skippo and was an avid bingo player. She loved puzzles and was known for her awesome sense of humor and her robust laugh.
She is survived by her three daughters; Joyce Cameron and her husband Niel of Gilford, Betty Stefanik and her husband John of Hooksett and Pamela Kapp and her husband Keith of Gilford, four sisters; Marjorie Bird and her husband Michael of Belmont, Jeanne Guptill of Gilford, Linda Giguere and her husband Richard of Gilford and Nikki Thomas and her husband Louis of Gilford, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ruthven O’Dougherty and one brother, Norman “Butch” Cabral.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at 4PM on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the
Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia. Burial will be private.
