Rice, Catherine B. (Burke) of Wellesley. March 10, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Edmund T. Rice. Devoted mother of Edmund B. Rice and his wife Rosemarie of Bethesda, MD; John T. Rice and his wife Nathalie of Wellesley; Anne L. Guild and her husband George of Wellesley. Loving grandmother of Jonathan Rice, Nathan Guild and his wife Callie, Stephen Guild, Christopher Guild, Matthew Rice and his wife Stephanie, and Tess Rice. Great-grandmother of Lola Guild.
Catherine was a graduate from Radcliffe College and earned a Masters Degree in Physics from Harvard College. She taught many years at Wellesley College and was a full time consultant to the US Air Force High Altitude Lab at Hanscom Air Force Base. She managed many launches of balloons to study the earth’s atmosphere.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 477 Washington St. (RT. 16) WELLESLEY, Friday at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul Church Wellesley at 10AM.
