Obituary

Steven Lloyd Tinker, 58, lost his six month battle with cancer on March 7, 2014, at his home in Prosser. He was surrounded by the love and support of family and friends. Steve was a great son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was an overall incredible and strong person that we will always miss and love.
Steve was born August 16, 1955, in Prosser, Washington to parents, Lloyd Walter Tinker and Norma Jean (Boyle) Tinker. He grew up in Ontario, California with his family, but then returned to Washington where he met and married his lovely wife, Cheryl Rosell Bright. The couple was married on June 12, 1982 in Camas, Washington. They spent thirty wonderful years together, raised two incredible boys and enjoyed their dearly loved grandchildren.
Steve worked for Benton REA for twenty-eight years and was a member of the VFW and Eagles Lodge. He loved the outdoors and often spent time at his cabin hunting, fishing, and hiking. He also enjoyed riding his Harley with his “facial hair arrangement”, as he called it, blowing in the wind.
Steve will be missed by Laurel Bishop who is a very special person. She was there for him day and night while he fought through this trying time. Steve and Laurel had a lot of wonderful times together. She is an angel sent from heaven. We highly appreciate and love her for everything she has done for Steve and his family.
Steve is survived by his father, Lloyd Tinker; brother, Dennis Tinker and wife Teresa;
sister, Tami Howell and husband Derek; sons, Austin Tinker and Brandon Tinker and his wife Mandi. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, Marlee Rees and Nicole Tinker; nephew, Connor Rees; and his grandchildren, Kyle Tinker, Jackson Willoughby, Jason Tinker, and Cameron Tinker. Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl in 2012 and his mother, Norma Tinker in 2009.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” memorial service on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Prosser Eagles Lodge.
