Retired Wilmington Teacher and School Principal
PORT RICHEY, FL: Mary D. (Brannan) (Driscoll) Roy, age 88, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away on March 7, at her home in Port Richey, FL.
She was the beloved wife of Rolland J. Roy, who passed away on November 23, 2003.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island on April 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Hawley and Helen (Mahoney) Brannan.
She was employed for 30 years by the School Department in the Town of Wilmington. In Mary's first four years she worked as a teacher, the following twenty-six years were spent serving as School Principal.
Survivors include her sister of Jane Spencer of Dalton, MA. She also leaves her late husband's son, Paul J. Roy and his wife Donna of Tewksbury, their daughter, Jennifer M. Bairstow and her husband Scott and their son Nathan. Her late husband's daughter, Linda R. Chiozzi and her husband Vincent of Andover, their children, Paul V. and Melissa K. Chiozzi. Her dear friend, Alice Jennings of Port Richey, FL, and several extended family members.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 12, from 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, to be followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary' memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
