Rhoda E. “Ellen” Keener, 71, of Hudson, died on Sunday, March 9th at Marlboro Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger E. Keener who died in 2008.
Born in Oakland, CA, daughter of the late Franklyn and Thelma (McKay) Van Laer, Ellen was raised in Oregon and resided in several locations throughout the world during her husband’s military career before they settled in West Boylston for some time following his retirement from the military. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant by the Digital Equipment Corp. for 10 plus years until her retirement.
She is survived by her two sons, Lynn Keener and his wife Annmarie of Shirley, Brian Keener and his wife Sara of Hudson and a daughter, Ann Laughman. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Van Laer of California and her loving granddaughter, Jasmine Keener of Hudson.
Funeral services will be held privately as where Ellen’s wishes and are under the direction of: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
