…Teamster’s Local 25 Driver; 76
TEWKSBURY - Mr. George H. Green III, age 76, a Korean War Veteran and retired Teamster, died Saturday afternoon, March 8, at Lowell General Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was husband of the late Jean (Carbo) Green, who died in September 2011.
George was born in New York, one of six children of the late George Green Jr., and Helen (Jones) Green. He had lived in Tewksbury since 1977.
During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Iowa.
Until retirement, he worked as a union truck driver for Teamster’s Local 25 in Boston, for various freight trucking outfits in the greater Boston area.
He is survived by four children, Linda Beausoleil and her husband Michael of Dracut, Robert J. Green and his wife Lynda (Beaulieu) of Salem, NH, James M. Green and his fiancé Lois DaPonte of Lawrence, Marianne Nichols and her husband Stephen of Tewksbury; six grandchildren, Monica, Jacqueline, and Joseph Beausoleil, Camden, Shaylyn, and Taylor Green; a sister, Barbara and her husband Ed Benditzky of CA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also father of the late George H. Green IV, who died in March 2011, and grandfather of the late Michael Beuasoleil. Committal service Friday, March 14, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
