John R. Egan, 84, of Atkinson NH, passed away Thursday February 27th at St Elizabeth's Hospital in Allston. John was born in Ithaca NY son of William and Anne (Hennessey) Egan and was a longtime resident of Methuen. He was a graduate of Ithaca High School, served his country with the US Army in the Korean War, went on to the Bentley School of Business and later worked for Raytheon in Andover for 39 years prior to retiring. John was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church in Atkinson NH and in his free time enjoyed being an avid Boston sports fan, especially listening to the Red Sox on the radio, being active at the Methuen Senior Center, donating his time to Meals on Wheels, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
John is survived by his wife Camille (Pacelli) Egan to whom he was dedicated to for 58 years, a son William Egan Sr. of Methuen, grandsons William Jr. and Kyle Egan of Methuen, a sister Nancy Webster of Madison WI. John is also predeceased by a brother William Egan.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday March 11th from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday March 12th at 9 AM at St Monica's Church in Methuen with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen.
