Caecilia Christine Theolinde Helmering, 84 passed peacefully on March 6, 2014 at home with her loving husband by her side.
Bornin 1929 in Vreden, Germany, Caecilia came to California in 1961 to marry Ludwig Helmering, her husband of 52 years, and raise three children in the Ventura County area.
She was the consummate homemaker who loved cooking, sewing, knitting, and raising her two daughters and one son. She loved watching ice hockey. In her younger days, she enjoyed camping trips with the family in Northern California and in the past few years spent many pleasant hours sitting in the yard enjoying the beauty of the natural world and watching the birds with her husband.
Caecilia is preceded in death by her daughter Margie, with whom she is now reunited. She is survived by her loving husband Ludwig Helmering, daughter Janet, son-in-law Eugene, her son Robert, daughter-in-law Joan, granddaughter Natasha, Margie's husband Martin, and grandchildren Justin, Logan and Kaitlin.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday march 12, 2014 from 4 to 8pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME 757 E. Main Street Ventura where a Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:30pm. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 13, 2014 at 10AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Ojai followed by interment in Santa Clara Cemetery, Oxnard. www.ReardonFuneral.com
