Gary L. Taillefer, age 59, passed away on Tues, Mar. 4, 2014, at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on May 29, 1954 in Holyoke, MA. He was a son of the late J. “Rene” Taillefer and Therese M. (Denoncourt) Courtney and her husband William Courtney. He worked as a roofer for many years before he retired. He loved camping, horseback riding, fishing, reading, riding his motorcycle and tinkering. He leaves his daughter Tracie Taillefer and her fiancé Larry O’Connor of Chicopee; 1 brother Paul Taillefer of West Springfield; 2 step brothers, Gary Courtney of Agawam and James Courtney and his wife Cheryl of Springfield; 1 sister, Michelle Labonte and her husband Davis of Chicopee. He also leaves his grandson Jackson, his "little buddy". He also leaves his former wife Laurie (Merrill) Taillefer of Chicopee and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Mon. Mar. 10, 2014 from 4-7 pm at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
