WOODRICH, Richard H. "Woody" Of Wellesley, MA; suddenly on March 4, 2014. Age 68. Beloved husband of 41 years of Judith Woodrich and father of Scott, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Stacia, of Wellesley. Born in Portsmouth, NH, he graduated from Kittery High School (1963), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1967), and Harvard Business School (1974). He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at RPI and served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy from 1968-1972. After receiving his MBA, he passed his CPA exam and worked for Arthur Andersen in the Boston area. He subsequently served as Chief Financial Officer and/or Strategy Officer for several biotech companies in the Boston area, guiding them through startup, partnership and joint venture activities, and mergers and acquisitions. At the time of his death, he was an Engagement Manager with Accounting Management Solutions of Waltham and served at the Chief Financial Officer for Dimension Theraputics, a biotech company in Cambridge. Woody was an avid Red Sox fan and season ticket holder for several decades and relished attending the turnaround 4th game of the Divisional Championship series in 2004 against the Yankees. He sailed, enjoyed cooking, was a highly accomplished punster, played basketball and softball regularly, did crossword puzzles with a pen, loved rock and roll trivia and his blizzard-white Samoyed, Kodi, and was a connoisseur of fine wine. He also was involved with leading his HBS class reunions.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt. 16), Wellesley, Friday, March 7, from 4-7PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Wellesley Village Congregational Church, 2 Central St., Wellesley, Saturday, March 8, at 11AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
