Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Edward Church at 9 AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Mrs. Mackin died Wednesday morning at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Marguerite (Palmer) Nelson. For many years she was a resident of Bridgewater. She was a graduate of Brockton High School and also graduated from a Junior College in Florida. She was formerly employed by the Bridgewater School Department and also at the Holiday Inn in Brockton. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and Friday night card games with her family.
She is survived by her 2 daughters Margaret M. Glavin of Brockton and Patricia Gorey of Raynham; 3 sons John Glavin, Jr. of Bridgewater; Thomas Glavin of Somerset, MA; and Lawrence Mackin of Tempe, Arizona. Survived by 6 Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and was the niece of Eleanor Black of Brockton. Sister of Lawrence Nelson of Vermont, Donald Nelson of Brockton, Margaret Picanzi of Brockton, Joan Griffin of California, Jean Kuehl of New Hampshire, Michael Nelson of Brockton, and Peter Nelson of East Harwich.
