Thomas F. Timmons, Sr. age 94 of Canton, formerly of W. Roxbury passed away March 4th at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Newton, he graduated from Newton High School, Suffolk University and was a Navy Veteran of WW II. He worked for the City of Newton for many years in the Recreation Department before retiring. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #157 in Newton and the American Legion Post # 440 in Newton. He enjoyed going to mass, dancing, the ocean and playing poker with his buddies. Beloved husband of the late Edna (Powers). Father of Barbara Vito of Norwood, Debbie Weckesser of Hanover, Donna Sola and her husband Anthony of Dedham, Thomas F. Timmons, Jr. and his wife Susan of W. Roxbury, Michael Timmons and his wife Sharon of W. Roxbury, Richard Timmons and his wife Cindy of Franklin, John Timmons and his wife Patricia of Canton, and Susan Sullivan and her husband Stephen of Canton. Also survived by 31 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Visting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Friday morning at 9. Burial VA National Cemetery, Bourne Friday afternoon at 1:45 pm.
