GILFORD - Carole Mae Huysmans, 74 of Gilford NH passed away on Saturday March 1, 2014.
Born on Oct 13, 1939 to Leonard and Frances Spaulding of Medford, MA. She was a graduate of Medford High School where she met her husband of 52 years, John G Huysmans Jr.
In the early seventies, they built a home on Governors Island, where they raised their four children. Carole was an active member of the Gilford Woman's Club, serving as President in 1975.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who's family always came first. She loved to cook and always made everyone who visited feel like they were part of the family.
She is survived by her husband John G. Huysmans Jr. of Gilford, a daughter, Joël and her husband Lee Freeman of Woodstock, NH, a son John G. Huysmans III and his companion Kerri Ebright of Gilford, NH, a daughter Jill Huysmans and her fiancé Mark Labonte of Hill, NH and a son Leonard Huysmans of Gilford, NH.
She also leaves behind three granddaughters, Alicia Huysmans of Gilford, NH, Sarah Freeman of Woodstock, NH, and Caroline Freeman of Woodstock, NH and countless other family friends who too thought of her as "Grandma". She also leaves behind her beloved Dachshund, Snicker Doodles.
There will be no calling hours. Services will be private.
