Robert F. Lafond, 82, of Manchester, died March 2, 2014 at his home after a long illness.
He was born in Manchester on February 24, 1932 to Romeo and Ida (Charron) Lafond. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Mr. Lafond worked at Guttman & Kessler Shoe Company, Myrna Shoe Company and the Boys and Girls Club of Manchester for many years. He was a member of the Mount Royal Club in Manchester.
The family includes his wife, Sharon (Berry) Lafond of Manchester; seven children, Marc Lafond and his wife, Pam, of California, Karen Lemery and her husband, Michael, and Jane Lafond, all of Manchester, Christine Royal of Florida, Gerard Lafond and his wife, Becky, of Maine, Mark Lafond of Manchester and Lisa Lafond of Colorado; seven grandchildren, Brian Lafond, Amber Lafond, Kristopher Lemery, Erin Lemery, Dylan Lafond, Jacqueline Lafond and Jaylyn Lafond; a great grandchild, Jordan Lemery; a brother, Edward Lafond of Hooksett; a sister, Juliette Soucy of Manchester; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
He also leaves his beloved dogs, Sammy, Benny, Harry and Burt; and his close friends from the Boys & Girls Club of Manchester, Gary Frost, Dick Jarvis, Brian Tremblay and Tracy Adams.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
