Obituary

Monique J. Gagnon, 86, of 10 Paradise Street, Gorham, NH passed away on Friday February 28, 2014 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, NH. She was born in St. Ferdinand, P.Q., Canada on September 12, 1927 the daughter of Simion and Ophelia (Fortier) Simoneau and was educated there. Monique came to the United States in the early 1960’s with her husband Gilles and her eldest son Mitch, first living in North Stratford and later moving to Gorham where she has since resided. She had been employed at Converse Rubber Company and later at the Tourist Village Motel. She was a devout catholic and a member of Holy Family Church. She loved classic country music, loved to cook and was an avid card player.

Members of the family include her son Donald Gagnon and his wife Wendy of Gorham; two grandsons Christopher Gagnon and his wife Isis of Cape Cod, MA and Nicholas Gagnon of Gorham; seven siblings residing in Canada; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Gilles on June 1, 2011, by her son Mitch on April 23, 2012 and by four siblings.

SERVICES: There will be no calling hours. Services will be held at a later date in Canada. Interment for Monique, her husband Gilles and her son Mitch will follow the funeral in Canada. In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes may make a donation in her memory to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Homes of Berlin & Gorham, NH.
