Newtonville, MA - Carol J. Hanson, 55, died unexpectedly March 2, 2014, at her home. She was born on March 15, 1958, in Palmer, MA, daughter of the late Eldora V. (Rundgren) and Rolf S. Hanson. After graduation from South High School in Worcester, MA, Carol continued her education and earned an undergraduate degree at Framingham State College and a Master's Degree at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She worked for many years in the food service industry as a waitress, hostess, and restaurant manager. Carol was an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by a sister, Sandra A. Racich of CT; a nephew, Rolf Erik Racich of CT; her aunt, Hazel Haggstrom of RI; as well as an amazing family of loving friends.
A celebration of Carol’s life will take place on March 23, 2014 from 2-7 PM at the Sons of Italy, 520 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA. Dress is casual; Red Sox apparel is perfectly acceptable.
