John F. “Jack” Lynch, Jr. age 58 of Brockton, died unexpectedly Friday February 28, 2014 at his home after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Ellen J. (Blunt) Lynch. Born in Brockton a son of the late John F. and Phyllis (Whittemore) Lynch, Jack remained a lifelong resident of the city. A 1974 graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational High School, he was employed as a mechanic with the Brockton Fire Department for 20 years.
Jack was a longstanding member of the Bertocci Club where he had served on the Board of Directors and a member of the Enterprise Club. He was also an avid fan of all New England sport teams. Jack was devoted to his home and family and his true joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Ellen he leaves three children Corinne Altham and her husband Richard of Gorham, Maine; Kathleen Lynch of East Bridgewater and John F. Lynch, III of Brockton. He also leaves three grandchildren Olivia, Julia and Jackson and a brother James Lynch and his wife Kelly of Wareham.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Tuesday 4-8 pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9 am for a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 10 am. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
